Questions
Do I need my own AI API key?+
Not if you start with the Retail (Basic) tier. We provide a small free credit pack so you can see the platform in action right away. If you want full speed, your choice of model, and unlimited cycles, choose the Advanced tier and bring your own API keys.
Can it trade my real money?+
Yes, on Pro. Connect a live Alpaca account and switch paper mode off yourself; Melli then places real orders under your mandate and the risk limits you set. Nothing moves an account to real money on its own. The free trial and the BYO-key Advanced plan trade on paper only.
What happens when my free trial credit runs out?+
The swarm stops rather than silently billing you — you are never charged for something you did not ask for. From there you can upgrade to Pro at $49/month, which gives you $25 of credit every billing month (it renews each month and does not roll over), or switch to the Advanced tier and bring your own AI key to continue for free.
How does the paper trading work?+
In the Retail tier, we provide an internal paper account out-of-the-box so you don’t even need a broker to start. In the Advanced tier, you can connect your own Alpaca paper account to simulate trading with real market data. Going live needs Pro.
Can I cancel or export?+
Yes. Cancel Pro any time from Settings → Billing in one click; no email or call needed. Pro, including live trading, stays on until the end of the billing month you have paid for, and you can undo the cancellation until then. Your remaining credit stays yours. The free trial and the BYO-key plan have nothing to cancel. Your money, trades and statements stay with your broker, not with us, so you can export your full trade history from Alpaca at any time. For a copy of your SwarmTrade data, or to delete your account, contact support.
